Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 while on my way to Glamis from san diego my banshee leaks oil, and on the way back what could be causing this problem anyone?? and i got a light problem one of my trail tech lights always burns out after one ride ,why?? Ok... Where is the oil coming from? is it coming out of the vent tube, a gasket or off the truck??? How is the bike sitting when it is in tow? Just some small questions that might help. The light sounds like a wiring problem. I would check and make sure you ground is good. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 You might have a bad voltage regulator. With the engine running at more than 1/2 throttle, check the voltage to the lights. I don't remember the spec, but it is around 14.5 volts. If it is higher than spec you could have a bad regulator, or possibly a bad ground for the regulator. Quote
AKheathen Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 i believe the banshee goes as high as 16v....have to check on that one. also, check the rear vent tube fitting, @ the rear motor mount. it may have poped out. found out on that one, because i load by walking it on the grab bar Quote
GrMeyer Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 For the light...Tail Tech is know'n for their the bad Ballest... I have sent mine in for three different ones.. Im on my Gen 4th what the tec said. My brother just sent his back in about a month ago and they have upgraded again to Gen 5. So call tail tech and see whats up... if your the owner from the get go then your good. If not you need to find the first owner of the lights and have him send them in. Each year with them at the dunes they end up going out due to high vibration. So I have learned when doing night rides to take one of those cheap head lamps from walmart with the three LED white light and two red to be in my pack. So no matter what I have some kind of light. So your not the only one seen probs with Trail Tech lights. Quote
