lt1bird Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 I have a new motor, the drive side sprocket tranny seal leaks. New bushing and oil seal was installed. Seems to be seaping from the seal where it meets the bushing. Will it brake in and stop or is there another reason for the leak? Should I just slap amother seal in? Thanks! Quote
rubberneck Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 did you apply a think layer of oil or grease to the seal when you put it together? it is possible to burn a seal if installed dry. Just throwing it out there Quote
lt1bird Posted November 9, 2009 Author Report Posted November 9, 2009 Yup, greased it good inside the groove. Kinda looks like only one edge of the seal is marking/rubbing the bushing. I only see one line where it contacts the bushing. That would leave a very marginal seal with only one edge sealing. Ill have to take a real close look tonight.. Quote
