Epd711 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 I'm tryin to get the stock axle out and the sprocket hub won't budge. Any tips? There isnt a clip or something I'm missing is there? Right now I sprayed PB Blaster and I'm lettin it sit for the night. I've swapped axles in a few of my older quads usually no porblems but this dang sprocket hub will not move at all. Any help appreciated -thanks. Quote
99bansheeboy Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 did you take the skid plate off ?? Quote
98_shee Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 After you take the nuts off it should slide off. If the pb blaster don't work, Try taking the carrier off, put a block on the ground stand the axle and carrier straight up and slam it down in the block it should break it loose. Quote
crustydemon Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Soak it real good overnight and tap on it a bit, It will come off. There are no clips on it. I've had a few stubborn ones in the past. Quote

Epd711 Posted November 14, 2009 Author Report Posted November 14, 2009 Well after trying a few different ways, still no luck, this thing is on there. I even took the carrier assembly off the swingarm put it in a press and no luck. Took it to the local dealer where my friends work, no one there could get it off either. What now? Any suggestions anyone? Quote
AKheathen Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 heat up the hub real good, put the wheel hub nut on the endwith a socket on it. set it on the concrete, and beat the carrier down......it should pop off, or at least start moving........at least you know the splines aren't worn out.
