Need help installing reeds

I can't figure out how to install these VForce II reeds that I have. I got new pedals and now I can figure out how to get the intake boot to fit into the reed cage. I have a 2006 Banshee, the stock intake boot has some rubber sticking out of the end that connects to the reeds and they won't fit onto the reed cages. Do I need to get aftermarket intake boots?

 

Here is the part I'm talking about( the side next to my finger)

am I supposed to cut those ears off to make it fit or what?

yup, cut 'em off. its the same with V Force III's

Souds good. I just didn't want to start cutting w/o knowing what to do first.

Be sure and use gaskets on both sides of the aftermarket reeds so you dont get any leaks

I went to Yamaha and bought extra so I have a gasket on either side.
