Lucas Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I have a 1990 yamaha banshee that was basically left at my house when a roommate moved out. It has not run for as long as I have had it. I have replaced every electrical component and wire with the exception of the stator and rotor inside the generator. I am still having a difficult time getting any spark, and the spark I get is very weak. Is there any possible issue that I am missing or am I going to just have to suck it up and buy a new stator. The rotor is in good shape. Quote
sleeper06 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Get a manual and ohms test it for resistance, check the pick-up coil gap it should be .020 Quote
Larry's Shee Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Clean all rust off of stator poles and lugs on outside of flywheel for pickup coil. Clean inside of flywheel. Quote
