Head Gasket, which side up

I am currently helping a friend assembly his motor, he has a moose head gasket, but it has no markings on which side goes up or down, i dont want to install it upside down, there is a raised side and a indented side. any help much appreciated.

I always went raised side up when i ran a stock head. Never leaked when torqued properly in the right sequence

there should be a raised "ring", that's stamped/punched in the head gasket, that goes around the cylinder bore....that faces up.
