Doddy Posted August 16, 2009 Author Report Posted August 16, 2009 No pipes? With pipes 300-320 Stock pipes. I'm trying to get this damn thing to run and it just won't go. I put in 250 mains, 25 pilots and have the air screw 1.5 turns out but it is really bogging at idle. I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Alex Quote
Doddy Posted August 16, 2009 Author Report Posted August 16, 2009 OK forget the mains what size pilots. Right now the stock 25 pilots are in there and I can't get a descent idol response no matter which way I turn the air screw. It just sits there and bogs at >1/4 throttle should I go up to 27.5's? Thanks. Quote

dragbanshee Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Yeah leave pilots at 25, you need to go in and make sure the pilots are clear, they clogg easily. Check the floats, valve seats, then make sure you have the "slides in the right carbs". The cutouts to the rear of bike, then make sure the "choke tube is in place on carbs", rubber hose that connects carb to carb. Check the e brake, and the TORS. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) When I put the Toomey/K&N 2 into1 filter on my wife's 96, I had to bump the pilots to 27.5 and I left the mains stock. This was at sea level and everything else on the bike was stock including pipes. Edited August 16, 2009 by bansheesandrider Quote
Doddy Posted August 17, 2009 Author Report Posted August 17, 2009 Found the problem. The slides were reversed in the carbs so it wouldn't idle right. Thanks for the help. Quote
