I just got my banshee about a month ago. It's a 1989 model. The electrical system was shot. I made the necessary repairs, cleaned the carbs and it ran really good, but not that great for a couple days. Now, I have a very hard time starting it. Kick starting it is nearly impossible, I have push started the machine so far starting it's rediculous...lol..... The left exhaust pipe, when running, runs hot, but the right side is barely warm, which tells me it's not firing right, but I have hot spark on both sides. My machine is running like a terd. I pulled the oil dip stick and it was dry after putting gear oil in it, so I added some more checked it the next day and none showed on the stick once again. I added more and checked it and it looked like milk, which I think would be water in it right?

Everyone I've talked to around here said the bike used to be the fastest thing around here and has been built, so here are the mods I know it has.

Racing pipes, that look like none I've seen yet. They have like a S shape to them and are HUGE compared to the aftermarket pipes I've seen

FMF silencers

Pro Flow air box with no lid.

Adjustable stator plate which was set at -4?????? Shouldn't it be +4 at least.

The carbs have huge jets in them.

I've also been told the motor has been bored, which I have no clue if it is true.

This site has been very helpful to me, so I figured I'd hit the board to finish rebuilding the bike and see if everyone can help me bring it back to life. Thanks guys and be cool.

ok, start with the basics, what is the compression in each cylinder?, did you synch the carbs? Milky oil indicated water in oil. The fact that the oil level keeps dropping and it is not leaking outside may indicate that it has a bad crank seal and is burning the oil. Is it smoking really badly out of the right cylinder, that is the other sign. do a compression test and let us know

first off,,,how much oil did you put in it?,you didnt notice any puddles,,,lol. and when you finally did see the oil, if it was milky u are definately getting coolant in there
