cpetersen Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 My wife has a 05 125 grizzly. I paid a mechanic $100 dollars to keep it freom fowling the plug. It is still doing the same thing as before. I ordered a carb kit for it. I believe that the previous owner cleaned and possibly dirlled out the jet. She blows black smoke and it sounds like it is flooding. Spark plug last 4 hours before needing to be changed. It has 120 psi of compression. It is not oil it is gas. Any advice for me? Quote
Larry's Shee Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) Check that air cleaner is clean. Be sure spark plug is correct heat range/reach. Check carb float level, remove get you think was drilled out take to dealer and compare to stock to be sure it's not drilled. Get manual and check other jet/ needle etc in carb. Does it have any modifications? Different exhaust, air cleaner, holes in air box lid, supposed to have an air box sorkle? Clean carb good, make sure all vents and vent hoses are clean. It's not using oil? Does it seem to get bad "mileage"? I guess $100 doesn't get much from a mechanic. Edited August 3, 2009 by Larry's Shee Quote

I ordered a carb kit and I will see if this helps. Thanks for the advice. Quote
