slopoke Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 I just bought a pancake bearing and intend on installing on a stock clutch setup. The problem I have is the old pusher had a hex head made onto it that fit inside the pressure plate and a jam nut that went on the other side. The pancake setup is just a straight shank and the smooth shank goes too far through it looks like. I am out of adjustment on cable end and clutch side. Quote
DallasGDub Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Make sure the pressure plate is in all the way. It will go in both the wrong way, and the right way. But the right way it will fall deeper into place. Quote
Rodneya Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Loosen the cable completely at the clutch perch and adjust the threaded screw part that goes through the pancake. With the springs off the clutch, screw the adjuster in till the pressure plate starts to move. then back off a quarter turn and tighten the locknut with some locktite. Quote

I am concerned about the way it just don't really fit inside the plate being there is a hex hole there. Do you know what i am talking about. i may not be very clear Quote
Sandfrk33 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Just finished installing one on mine. I had to loosen the clutch cable then adjust it. First time, I didn't have enough adjustment left on the clutch handle. I was told to run the adjuster in until it touched, then back it off just a hair. Seems to release fine now. Quote

slopoke Posted July 30, 2009 Author Report Posted July 30, 2009 ok feel better now but i don't have hardly any threads left. All my adj is about gone...gone have to ck it again. The pancake one is shorter than my original pusher. That is where i am running into problems i thik. Quote
Sandfrk33 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Make sure the ball bearing didn't fall out. Quote
