stuck in a gear

i had just brought another banshee. by the looks of it, it has been setting for a very long time. anyways the problem is that its stuck in a gear, it wont shift at all. if i pull the clutch in it will roll and go into neutral, but i let go of it and back it the gear. should check the clutch? or am looking at trans problems? i just got it yesterday and haven't tried to start it cuz its been sitting for a long time.

U should phone the person u bought it from and ask him why he sold it? Why was it standing. . .he'l probly give u sum kak story. . .but anyways. Pull ur clutch cover off and hav a look if ur adjusting lever isnt mayb bent or unhooked off the shift star. . .if thats fine try shifting while spining the back wheels. . .usualy it wont shift standing still. . .doesnt sound like a clutch problm at all. . . . If the above dsnt work mayb a shift fork has bent. . Then u gana hav2 split the cases. . . Good luck

took my clucth apart and found the screw the connects the shift star and the shifter broke. now everything works. thanks for the help
