robert.b.west Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I welded the ball to the outer plate and now I just want to check to see if it need to replace the pushrod also. Is it held in place by anything or can I just use a magnet to get it out. Quote

It should fall out right after the ball, but you say you welded your ball just take the clutch assembly off and tilt the motor sideways.. it isn't held in by anything but try a skinny magnet Quote

SAVAGE420 Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I tried a magnet and it seems to be sticking on something is there another way to get it out? Almost 100% sure the push rod has mushroomed on the end not allowing it to come out.. ONLY way to get it out now is by splitting the cases. This is a very good time to buy and put a pancake bearing in and this will Never happen again. Good day. Quote
RagunCajun Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Take out the clutch actuator and push the rod all the way in. See if the end is mushroomed. If it's mushroomed or anything inside is messed up(other end could be mushroomed), you gotta push it out from the back. That means splitting the cases. I did just that about 2 months ago. Get yourself a pancake bearing while you are at it so it wont happen again. You can turn your engine upside down so you dont have to take the juggs/head off. Makes things a little quicker. Just be careful and put your shift forks in the right channel. Quote

I took the clutch actuator and it looked like it had welded it self to the pushrod as well. I wish i would have read this earlier I have already taken the motor out and taken the cylinders off. O well. I was thinking about ordering the pancake bearing thursday but ended up not doing so now I guess I will. Thanks guys. Quote
