caleb205 Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I'm thinking of selling my Banshee in order to keep on working on restoring my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I would love to be able to keep both and just keep plugging away like I've been doing, but like most everybody else I'm starting to feel the financial pinch of the economy and extra money is getting hard to come by in my household. What I have is a 2001 Banshee that is literally in pieces. I bought this from my cousin when he was hard up for money for $1000. Since then I have put almost $700 into it. That includes having one of the jugs resleeved and the other bored, and having both jugs ports cleaned up. This alone cost well over $300 and was done professionally. I can dig up the receipt if need be. I have also purchased several parts that my cousin told me he had but did not (headlights, kick lever, thumb throttle, matching brake and clutch levers....etc). The frame was powdercoated red shortly before I got it and looks pretty good. It also has yellow ceet plastic, two set of tires (1 set are holeshot), fmf fatty pipes, and a few other aftermarket parts i can't recall right now. the only thing i know of that is missing are pistons. the reason being because of the setup. currently it has aftermarket racing long rods installed. the current bore on the jugs is 44.75mm. i haven't decided yet if i was going to go with long rod pistons and move the bore up to 65mm or keep the bore the same and go back to stock connecting rods and wiseco pistons. i will also give whoever buys the bike all the extra misc. parts that i have for the bike which is numerous. i was given boxes and boxes of parts and pieces and i know for a fact that even after the bike is put back together there will still be a ton of extra parts left. this gives the buyer the added option of selling the extra stuff or putting it away for any future mishaps. i probably won't take less than the initial $1000 i have into it and i'm looking for cash to put into my TA so i'm not interested in trades either. i welcome any private message letting me know if my price is way off in any way. i am by no means an expert on banshees and a lot of you know way more than i do so any help would be appreciated. caleb205 Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 i think my idea of in pieces may be a little different than most. the frame and roughly 90% of the suspension i have already put back together. the engine is together except for the pistons and jugs. the plastic, gas tank, seat and other misc. items are not back on the bike yet. when i got the bike it was literally in pieces. not a nut or bolt was attached to the frame due to the powdercoating. anyways, i may decide to part the bike out if i can't sell it whole. i really need to get rid of this bike because i have a guy ready to paint my TA for a really good price if i can get it to him soon. anyone interested in parts email me at [email protected] and let me know what you need and give me a week to see if i can sell the bike whole. if not i'll start parting it out. thanks, caleb Quote
