mattpiston Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 can any one help me on getting my jetting in the ball park. i have a fairly stock banshee. it has cpi inframe pipes, noss head with 20cc domes and stock carbs 2 into 1 k&n airfilter. stock reeds. i have 25 pilot jets and 310 main jets im 1000 ft above sea lvl. i think my pilot jet are lean but not sure. my banshee is boiling antifreeze out of radiator its between 100 to 90 degrees here in oklahoma. im running klotz super techniplate 20% castor oil is that okay? it seem to smoke at all is that normal? mattpiston Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 huh? you mixin 4:1? or the oil is 20% castor? are you saying it's not smoking? is it boiling while ridding, or sitting running? the oil is 20% castor. im mixing 32:1. and its boiling while im ridding. doesnt seem to be boiling when i stay on it good. but cruising around running on the pilot jet it seems to be getting hot. but it could be doing it when im riding it hard also kinda hard to tell lol. but i can see burnt anti freeze on my pipes is that normal? think my main is on rich side or pilot? GrMeyer Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 umm im going to say you need to go up to 27.5 pilots... as for boiling over you might have another prob on your hands... is your main the right main jet for your bike. If it is lean it will heat the bike up fast and boil the water and soon melt the pistons. Riding in 100deg temps on the 2stokes are hard on them unless you have them tuned in well. Just remember that 70deg temps to 90deg temps will change the jetting. so I ways jet for the coldest part of the day and when it starts to get around 95 is when I go back and get the 4stroke if I want to keep riding. But do some plug chops to see if you have the right jetting in you bike. Quote

Thanks you. i think the main is okay though it had a 290 in it put on the noss head and i jettet main up to 310. Quote
