SAVAGE420 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) First things first. Whats your mods temp elevation? Do you know how its jetted, pilot, needle main.? Do you know the diff from being lean or rich? Could be something stupid like a dirty as hell air filter (rich) or an air leak (lean) or even dirt or some crap in your tank that got sucked into your carbs. Do you have clear fuel lines? If so when you turn on the pet cock do you see fuel flow quick and fill the lines? Did you go through mud/water just before this or really dust conditions? I bet its your air filter just clogged up and dirty. Do a compression check on both sides and tell us what they read. Also tell what your plugs look like when you take them out just so you have somewhat of an idea.... ALSO check to see if you have a good amount of spark, take a plug out and put it in the plug wire and hold it as close as you can to bare metal like on the cyl nut and kick it a bunch of times (easy to see the spark when its darker out or in the shade) Now go check  Edited June 29, 2009 by savage420 Quote

I will check everything just to see but when I came home for lunch I tried it & it fired right up. I have no engine mods. Don't know the elevation but the guy that owned it before me knows his shit, the bike runs good (except for his problem) No idea what it's jetted at because I just got it & haven't got in to it yet. I know the difference between rich & lean. It's more on he lean side but not enough to do any damage. I run 32:1 Yamalube. Could be he filter, it's pretty dirty. When I turn the gas on it does run through the line fast. I didn't run through any water or mud before the problem but because we have only dirt roads, it's always very dusty. I'll check compression when I can. I need to borrow the tester from a buddy. I checked the spark when I first got it & it's got pleny of it. Thank you again. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) Go clean the filter really well and let it dry completely then go for a rip. If its dirty, your really rich and that's why the bog. :ninja: Also of course it had good spark BEFORE this problem beacuse you say it ran good. But you should check iit now too since it could be something electrical also....takes 1 minute to check for spark......... Edited June 29, 2009 by savage420 Quote

If its plugged,it wont gravity feed and die. Quote

LegalizeFreedom Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 Also check your vent tube on your gas cap. If its plugged,it wont gravity feed and die. Acctually my vent tude is really long & gets twisted up sometimes. I'll cut it to size so it's good. Thanks for the info. Quote
