2strokespirit Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 What could cause this to happen? What brand stators do you use?? Ricky and RM stators is junk... Some people on here had warranty claims as you would not believe, most that run them will tell you their junk... Get oem stator if you had been running these chinese crap... Quote

chaisson70 Posted June 23, 2009 Author Report Posted June 23, 2009 We have rewired the coils on the stator 3 times now and within an hour, it burns out again. So, I'm thinking it's something else other than the stator itself. Could there be another cause? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Bad ground. Bad CDI. Bad rewind on the stator. Quote
chaisson70 Posted June 23, 2009 Author Report Posted June 23, 2009 Is there any way to check the cdi box? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Other than obvious signs of breakage, wires stripped, plastic melted, no. It's one of those things, replace it with a known good working one. Beg or borrow one. One of the reasons I keep a spare at the track, just in case. They don't go bad often, I'd say out of the whole ignition, the CDI probably has the lowest failure rate. But when they do...it can be no spark, it can act weird only when warmed up...etc. Quote
