As i stated in one of my last posts, i am starting the tear down to rebuild the motor, i want to stay as close to stock mechanicaly as possible, now when i had the head off to free up the pistons i did not see any visible damage to the walls from what i could see, with out removing the jugs. And it actually sputtered to life for a few seconds this weekend( I am sure carbs need rebuild) Now should i do a leak down test / compression test to see if i will need to bore or if i could just get away with a hone and get a 64mm complete top end rebuild kit? Yes i am planning to inspect the crank and bearings and replace all gaskets,But i dont want to spend extra money on boring and oversized top end if i dont need to.
