themike Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 One of my cylinders is burning darker than the other but both sides of the engine are set up completely the same. No air leaks that I could find. The darker side is running much stronger and putting out more exhaust. If I plug the end of the pipe on the darker side then it kills the engine but if I plug the other side it makes almost no difference. Any ideas? Please help!!!!! Quote
gregrob Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 1) do a compression check if they are the same or very close 2) check / clean carbs, make sure you don't have a plugged jet, make sure needles are set the same, verify slides are both opening all the way up. report back Quote
AKheathen Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 check the reeds while you are in there, and sync the carbs when you are done. make sure the choke tube is good. once you are done, you can even out the exhaust pressure with the idle, then even the firing with the airscrews Quote
