01sheerider Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 hey all, I am in the process of rebuilding my shee...Today while installing the crankshaft, i noticed that one of the bearings on the end doesn't have the little nipple or whatever its called. U know ..the one that goes into the slot on the cases....My question is...How do you remove those bearings? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 You need a press. Have a reputable builder/shop replace it. You might as well just get a new hot rods crank while your at it (on second thought  ). Quote

This is outside a normal garage's arsenal, so it's best to take it to a machine shop or motorcycle shop. :geek: Quote
swrbansheeboy Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 yep, you need a bearing cup and a press. as long as your just replacing one of the outer bearings just chuck the bearing up in the press and remove it from the crank, then take a propain torch running map gas and heat up the inner race of your new bearing for 15-20 seconds then drop it on the crank.... as was mentioned, this is usualy above the scope of your average garage mechanic so if this doesnt make sense to you or you dont think you can get it done without f-ing it up just go to a shop and have it done...
