Ineedmoney Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Okay so i get on bansheehq every day and see the same post from different people asking what pipes to use wiht what. blah blah blah Okay so were gonna start out wiht the trail bike. Some mods u would see on a trail bike are maybe be 1. K&N 2. V force II reeds 3.and maybe a new set of tires 4. possibly a trail port. ( but not really needed) So u want to know what pipes to use fr this kind of set up. For trail riding u will want to have good low end. I have found after riding a bunch of different banshees that pro circuits are the best low end power pipe u can buy. THis beign said many people hate on these pipes and i dont know why. I know alot of people will also go wiht the fatties or gnarlys. The gnarlys are also a amazing low end pipe for this kind of set up. but the fatties are more for mid range i think. So basically if u were gonna go wiht a trail bike the best pipes for low end are gonna have to be 1. pro cirsuits for the WIN. 2. paul turners 3. gnarlys 4. fattys DUNE BIKE Next bike we will decide for. MOds this bike could have done to it 1. v force reeds 2. 4 mill crank 3. dune port wiht bored .40 over 4. + 4 swingarm 5. override tranny 6. bigger carbs 7 cool head wiht anwhere from 17 cc domes to 20 cc domes 8. + 5.5 timing NOw for all of the 4 mill bikes they would want there power from low all the way to high if they can get it. But most people decide on Toomey T-5's for a 4 mill. These are the pipe si personnally have on my bike. These pipes are amazing adn fill so good. I love the sound of them also. Some people will even go wiht cpis adn shearer inframes. I would have to say to go with toomey t-5s for mid to high range and go with the cpi or shearer for all top end. So the order i would place them in would have to be 1/ Toomey t-5's for the win. 2. Shearer inframes 3. cpi inframes Now for the complete fully strecthed out drag bike. U allready know how many mods it could have and would have to have to be a fully built drag bike so i wont make a list. Most people with drag bikes use the shearer or CPI out of frame pipes. These pipes are used for all top end power. 1. Shearer out of frames i hear are better then the CPI's 2. CPI for the second place NOw for a list of pipes and what they are good for for all of you people who want to know about pipes i didnt list. 1. Pro circuit - all pro circuit pipes increase the low rang epower to mid range the most not really any top end power increase. 2. FMF gnarlys - A great low end pipe troug the mid range, NOt so good on the top end. Mostly used for MX 3. FMF Fattys - Thsi pipe sis the most popular pipe that i know of, it is good for low to high. increase all of them and broadens the powerband. 4. Toomey t-5's - The most used pipe for the banshee, and the one they all talk about. U can use it for anything but mostly increase mid to top end power. 5. shearer - good for drag racing 6. CPI - good for drag racing GUYS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PUT INPUT ON THIS TOPIC. THIS IS JUST WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED AFTER RIDING MANY DIFFERENT BANSHEES. Quote

AKheathen Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 should've done a search before you went through all that hard work. it's been covered. mabye sepll check, too. also, you can do alot more to a trail bike. i.e. 4 mill, mid-top pipes, as much width and length as you can get away with, advanced timing, coolhead, bigger carbs, serious port work, tranny mods, the list goes on. BoostedRex Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 I'm sorry but other than "trail riding" ALL pipes are inferior to CPI's and shearers. They are not just for "top end" they will out pull any set of toomey's all through the powerband. And I would take CPI's over shearer's any day but everyone has their preference when it comes to those two. Quote

Most of this information looks to be mainly heresay and very elementary at the least, I will still give you credit though for time spent and im sure it would probably give a newcomer somewhat of an idea... this thread isn't going to stop people asking questions about which pipes to use Agreed, there has been alot of these type's of threads and they always get bumped to the back to never be rebumped again.. Ineedmoney Posted June 14, 2009 Author Report Posted June 14, 2009 Yeah it was late and i was really bored. so i jsut wrote this out. It really aint accurate. It is just what i have experienced. My buddy owns a bike shop so i ride them all the time. I know u can do alot more to a trail bike but i put those down there ecause most people that dont really know about banshees wont put a 4 mill into it untill they want to go to the dunes and race. trail bkes can be fast as hell but there suppose to be for bottom end and not fast. 4 mill will give it alot more bottom end but still nto everyone gets one on the trail bike like u do a dune bike. I know. i type fast so i mispell some words. Quote
AKheathen Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 haha, have you been on the trails? you aren't there to sight see on a banshee. all kind of trails, you pin it when you can. hill shots, climbing out of a hole, building momentum. 50% you want all the power now. and then some Quote
