I recently got ahold of an 01 banshee with a completely stock motor. I put on my old pro circuit pipes i had laying around, and also added a K&N airfilter with wrap. When i run it with the lid on the airbox, it runs great. As soon as i take the lid off, when i get to high rpms it dies. Im figuring its way to lean with the lid off so im keeping it on til i get my jets. My elevation is close to sea level. After doing some reading, with the exact mods i listed plus running the box with no lid, 340 maines and number 30 pilots were recommended. Would this be good to try out atleast? With my old 87 (same setup but with diff reeds and coolhead) i ran 280 i believe, not sure on the pilots but i know they were changed also. Now i also have a coolhead with 21cc domes on the way and was wondering what reeds to get. I was trying to decide between carbon tech mids and Vforce3. I ride mostly in pits and trails, with ocassional drags down the street.

start with 290 if the riding conditions are the same. once you have the mains dialed in, set your mid throttle with the needles, and adjust your airscrews for the idle to 1/8 while it's warm. if it wants less than 3/4 turnfrom seated, then go up on the pilots. i believe the carbon techs would suit your pipes better
