bassmaster345 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 I am having problems with my rear brake pads rubbing the rotor all the time, is it time to replace the caliper? Or is there something I can do to remedy the problem. It's on a '89 and looks to be the original caliper and the parking brake has been blocked off. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Get new pads and roll with it, you can't help it rubbing they all do. This is the only thing you can buy to eliminate that problem. http://mindbendermotorsports.com/default.a...PKV=BBSYFZ350|0 So it's either spend 17 bucks on some new pads or 330 to stop the rubbing on the rotor. You decide..haha Cguid Quote
BSHEE400 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 is it only barely rubbing the rotor or is it keeping pressure? if it's keeping pressure on it you can take it apart, clean the piston and slides real good then put it back together using a small amount of grease on the moving parts Quote
bassmaster345 Posted May 25, 2009 Author Report Posted May 25, 2009 It is rubbing to the point that when I slow down it makes a squeeling noise and the rotor gets smokin hot! I think I am gonna take it apart like you said and clean it up real good. I just got it all put back together after replacing the axle and also put a different hub and rotor on it cause I couldn't get the one off the other axle. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Yeah if it's rubbing that bad i would clean it out real good like he said. Probably common on older model banshees. Quote
