lswat50 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Hi guys i have a 2000 banshee kinda new to all the 2-stroke. my first question is some guys have modded out engines and are running 160 mains and stock pilots then guys with mostly stock ones have 340 mains and 30 pilots. anyway i have fmf pipes and silencers, k&n air, no snorkel, vented lid, stock carbs, boost bottle, elevation 750ft, indiana weather(bout60-90),no timing changes, 32:1 premix,no port or head work. i currently have 260 mains and 25 pilots not sure on clip spot yet. if any one can help me out with where i should be on my jetting i would greatly appreciate it. AKheathen Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 you are pretty close, should be about 270 main as a starting point, clip in the middle, and you will have to adjust the airscrews to decide if you need a bigger pilot or not. the reason some use jets like 48 and 160, is because they are running much bigger carbs. GrMeyer Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 the guys that are running 160 mains are running different carbs Quote
black sunshine Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 When I had only FMF's and a K&N, I went up to 340's before I had a good plug chop, same elevation. Quote
