Ieat4strokes Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Headed to my first official race this weekend with my boss. It's in Ashland Miss. I was gonna try some race gas for a little extra. Some C12 to be exact, right now my timings at +4, should I bump it up a lil more? My compression is @ 135 on both cylinders with 21cc domes @ sea level. I know this is a minor question but I'm wanting all I can get until my 4 mill is ready! Should I strut it? If so what size stock should I use? Thanks guys Quote
AWR Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 with no portwork and 135# of comp. c12 will probably slow you down.if you engine dose'nt need race gas don't run it.race gas would take 2 tenths out of my street bike over sunoco 94.strut your front so the arms are level and then strap down the back.leave your timing at +4....good luck.i'm sure you will get different opinions. Thanks guys you can get some 1" square tubing from lowes. 12" from eye to eye will get your a-arms about level. you will have to eyeball the rear to see what works for you. what kind of track is this? ashland is about an hour and a half or so from me. lowbuckracing Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Dont waste money on race fuel..buy some 19cc domes to bump up compression and then run the race gas...good luck at the races..Its a real nice -Natural high.. Quote

Ieat4strokes Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 Its a dirt track, mixed with some kinda clay he said. Said that knobbies are fine at that track. Ill leave the race fuel out until i can get some more domes in to get my compression up. Also thanks for the tube size ill head to lowes tomorrow and grab bout 3 feet and just strap the rear. Like i said its e.t. so as long as i can be consistent how fast you are really dont matter. My boss also owns a dirtrack in Friendship, TN where its heads up racing, he's been trying to get me there to run but im not going until i at least get my new cylinders ported and get the 4 mill crank in her...... thanks for the help guys Quote
Ieat4strokes Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 We didnt go to the miss race because of all the rain but we did go to the friendship drags in Friendship TN....nice 300ft dirt track. We get talked into driving almost a hour there and we pull up, EVERYONE has wheelie bars and running prowedge 2's or paddles.....Im like Ohh sh!t, they done suckerd our ass down here with knobbies and no bar lol Neways long story short on my stock motor, stock clutch, knobbie tires in soft dirt they best i could pull off was a 5.3, i ran 5.3's-5.4's consistent. But I ended up pulling out because I couldnt get it to run right, kept bogging...... well my cylinders are getting shipped off tomorrow for a full drag port.... and im putting my 4 mill in...the time has come hahaha My friend on the other hand actually won the 2 stroke class over another shee with drag pipes, paddles and a bar and a 250r with a 310 motor with paddles and a bar....... these were some old timers that said theyve been racing for 15-20 years hahhaha needless to say there are NO excuses for guys that do this every weekend to get beat by a ported banshee with knobby's hahhaa i was so happy for him cuz he was jumping 2 bikes out of the hole on the 310r and I have it ALL on video, i will upload soon. He's got one hell of a beast.... Quote
popa_top2000 Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 I been to that track in Friendship before. Its a pretty decent track, I lived in Clarksville so it was a long ass drive but had a hell of a time. I got my ass handed to me pretty good a few times, I had a stock shee with just pipes and that was it. When I used to go there was some bad ass 250r's and banshee's there. Quote
