2strokesmoker Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Might sound like a dumb question but from what i was told no question is dumb lol so here it goes.... The rubber plugs in the bottom of the cylinders. Are they needed or not? The gasket dosent have a hole that matches.......I think the hole is strictly for the casting when they make the jugg. Can I continue my build without these plugs? Waiting on the dealership and they are taking forever!!!!!! Quote
swrbansheeboy Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 honestly i've never tried running a set of jugs without them, i just pull em/ clean em up then threebond them back in.... Quote
rubberneck Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 I think if you try it wiithout them you will be pulling the top end right back off to put them in. The cooling system can have up to 16psi in it. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 You need them. I've tried in the past to fill them with RTV in a pinch...but you really need the plugs. As said, the gasket won't hold the coolant pressure that the rubber plugs will. Quote
Fireroad Express Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 yep, you need em. your jugs will leak without the plugs! Quote
