nology coil now wont start

just put on a nology and hot wires my shee started on one kick after sitting all winter now wit new nology wont start hope i didnt screw something up hooked up the orange wire to + and the black wire to - new br9es plugs took like 20 kicks to start then idled for ahwile and all grounded and mounted properly.

tried to start again after and now will not start help!!! dont have a stock to put back in "wires toast" i do have some issues once and ahwile the float will stick in one carb and run out the overflow when its not running. pulled plugs dont look fouled or anything.

why are you using br9's? fresh gas mix? good blue spark? maybey you got something in the carbs. if the floats are sticky, it's probably time for a cleaning anyway.

With a nology coil you don't need to run resistor plugs.Switch to b9es.Also did you buy the coil new? I would double check that spark. You have the coil wire grounds grounded correct?i grounded mine to the cylinder head studs and double nutted them.Or can pull the filters/filter and spray a few shots of starting fluid in the carbs at wide open and then fire it up.if it fires up then you know it's a fuel problem and not spark.

The grounds would be better off on cylinder head studs. :geek:

If you were already replacing the coil due to "failure", you have me wondering if something else is suspect. The OE wires will not "toast" with the voltages the Banshee coil outputs. The terminations are common enough, but not a wire failure. You can remove the wires from the coil by removing the retaining clip, trim .250" off them, and reterminate. If you have access to an oscilloscope, that would be helpful. I would be looking at the stator first here.

 

Because the Nology uses higher resistance wires, you may be suppressing what little fire you had.
