JTP Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 OK I bought a Banshee that need to be rebuilt. A friend and I rebuilt the bike and when we started it up and it ran fine, Just like it should. I got a used set of headlight from another friend and hooked them up. Started the bike and it would not Rev up, it idles but when you try to rev it up it boggs down. So I unhooked the headlight and the bike ran fine. So I took the wiring out the the bike and rewired it. The TORS was already off the bike, so I just wired it so the lights are always on high if the bike is running. Get that done, start it and the same thing. Lights are hooked up and it will not rev, unhook and it runs fine. Im thinking the CDI box? Everyone tells me that it runs like the TORS is on but the box is not there and no wires. Let me know if you have seen this before. And if you can give me any ideas. Quote
01banch Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 It seems to me that you are wiring you lights to the ignition side of the stator, That would cause lower voltage when the lgiths are running. So you need to look at a wiring diagram and see what color wires are for lights and what color the ones for the ignition are. Quote
JTP Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 When i rewired the bike, i did it just like the diagram thats on this form. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html It did the same thing befor I rewired the bike also Quote

The park brake wire limits the throttle to like 3,000 rpm when its activated. Quote
JTP Posted April 24, 2009 Author Report Posted April 24, 2009 this is what i used to wire the bike. The TORS controls the Rev at 3k right? The TORS box is not hooked up and not even on the bike. Correct me if im wrong, I just want to find the problem with this thing. Thanks for all the help Quote
