The Faster Cracker Posted April 16, 2009 Report Share Posted April 16, 2009 so i recently stripped 3rd 5th and 6th gears. i took all the gears off and of both axles to check them out. i replaced the damaged gears and replaced the bearings as well. when i had the tranny sitting in just the bottom case everything spun smooth. like a dumbass i didnt try shifting through the gears though. shift forks are lined up correctly. though only thing i did notice wiht the top case still off is that there was some slack when you would turn the gears before the second axle would catch up. i put the top case on and when i bolt it down it wont shift out of third and when you spin the drive sprocket there is a catch. it will stop the rotation but you can turn past it with a little more force. any ideas?
