goodbyeskyharbor13 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Got my first banshee a week ago, and an hour into riding i noticed gear oil leaking out of the shifter side. I think it might be coming from the sproket cause the oil got on the chain and threw it everywhere, and also it was collecting under the sproket. Any ideas on what to check for would be appreciated. MikeNick Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Shift shaft seal is bad I would say. Quote
rubberneck Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Could be the seal on the countershaft (behind sprocket) could be one of the shift rail plugs, could be shift shaft seal, but probably not if it is running on to sprocket and flinging around. Clean it up really well and go for a short ride and look to see where it is coming from. Moset likely countershaft based on your descripition Quote
