ok, i'm running cheetah cub cylinders that are 65mm bore, no porting, should i be running big bore or small bore pipes? i mean it technically isnt big bore but they are cubs. So im not sure

don't make the same mistake i did, i was thinking big bore with my 10mill cub and then after buying pipes my builder recommend that i should have got small. So with that said i would ask what your builder would recommend. That is if you have a builder unless you did all the work yourself.

Most pipe manufacturers will telll you the cc's they are intended for and most of them rum 350 to 420 as small bore and 421 and up are big bore doesn't matter the stroke or porting.

I agree with Cody on this one, But if your just going outta the box I say to run small bores......

 

Yes i agree with small only because of the some of my buds with big motors are switching to small bores and the results speak for themself.

Man I have heard the opposite!!! I don't think there is a cut and dry answer to BB vs SB other than ask your builder, as mentioned, or run SB on out of the box Cubs.

 

I'm trying to run BB on my new 10 mil Cub (which is currently a turd for whatever reason-jetting, air leak..something) and SB on my other Cubs.

I was thinking I should keep it small bore, I just wasn't sure, first motor i've done with cubs. I got FMF fatty's on there now, and they do okay (nothing to compare to) so truthfully i don't know. I havn't got it past break in and jetting is still a bit off (rich). I'm running 28 PWK's also. I know to small for cubs but all funds would allow for now, I didn't know if I should go with bigger carbs or switch the exhaust first, but I think I'm going to leave it be for awhile it runs really strong (thus far) and do the carbs first when i'm itchin for a bit more giddy up.

small bores for sure ,on some port layouts and bigger engines the BB work good ,often times a big bore pipe on a small bore engine will give up some lowend torque and response
