Need help with domes

Getting my motor put back together, 4mil crank with 68 cub cylinders. When i bought the cylinders i got a cool head and the domes the guy was running with it. The domes are 19cc and he was running gas through it. Does it matter what dome you use on gas or alky. What do you guys think i should be running for a dome. thanks

I run 20 cc gas domes with alky on mine, and it runs pretty good. Not sure how much more benefit I'd get out of changing to alky domes.

personally, the race fuels out now are as good if not better than alky. Whats your reason for running alcohol, j/w

I would not count on that.

I'd get some more domes cut for alky, there slightly different than gas domes. I think the edges on gas domes are rounded off and alky domes are squared off. Let me see if i can find that thread about domes real fast.

I would not count on that.

 

 

Alky is good for 10-13% increase in HP over race fuel... So I'm gonna have to agree with Moneybags on this one.

I also disagree with that statement. Maybe some oxygenated, or exotic race fuels are close to alky, but a hell of a lot harder on the motor, run a lot hotter, and are $$$$$$.
