278 Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 VHT high temp. coating, you can find it at your local auto parts store, follow the baking instructions on the can or the heat cycles. Then clear coat it with the dupli-color 500 degree clear coat or any other high temp. clear coat. or what I did was painted the T5 symbol black and did a custom design but not the whole pipe, well the bare metal on the pipe changed color and it came a a unique dark grey that has gold flake like in it just from the heat Quote

Darthwall Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 this is one way I learned from fckin around use the high temp paint at shucks or checker I think is the VHT hightemp paint! clean them with a steel woole good then ride the shit out of it get the pipes HOT then spray the paint on the paint actually bakes on the metal and lasts a long time Quote
R. Rollins Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 x2 on that method. Last year I pulled the pipes and stuck them in the oven at 170 degrees. I got them hot then quickly hung them from my garage door opener motor with a rubber strap and wire and painted them with that VHT paint. Its great stuff. Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted April 7, 2009 Author Report Posted April 7, 2009 Can I put it in a propain oven. I know u can't do pc because it will blow up. And paint does to. But still will it blow up if I put it in a propane oven. Also I can't ride the shee yet because im still rebuilding it. I might just try the brake rotor paint Quote
LONEWOLF Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 i just used black paint for a wood burner. it has worked for everything else for me. i put it on our mud truck headers, motors, more or less everything that has high heat. and is is pretty cheap. u can get it at most hardware stores Quote
