cjtl1000r Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Hey guys, working on a complete rebuild here. The left side rod bearing went out and left small metal parts in the bottom of the case. I'm assuming the crank has just pounded the broken bearing pieces into the bottom and has left some damage. Before replaceing the crank should i have the case repaired or will it be ok? I'll try to post a pic later. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Post some pics of what it looks like. If there aren't any dings sticking up to interfere with the crank i wouldn't see a problem with it. But hard to say without pictures. Quote
2001Stroker Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 If it ain't punched through the case, just use a piece of sandpaper to smooth it out some. I just trenched mine, and had to take out 3mm of material inside there. I'm sure a couple of bering pieces didn't gouge it anywhere near that deep. You should be good. Put up a pic. Quote
cjtl1000r Posted March 10, 2009 Author Report Posted March 10, 2009 No there isn't anything to interfer with the crank and it isn't punctured through by any means. Mostly just scuffed but there are some places that are gouged. I'll try to post pics tonight. Quote
