sredish Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 what were you all milling off.... trying to remember.... 30 thousandths? Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Don't know alot of info about milling stock heads but a while back i talked to a guy and remember him saying it was 50 thousandths side note, i could be wrong as shit...haha Quote
bansee fever Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 i think it depends on what type of fuel your wanting to run ! the more u take off the higher the compression will be Quote
deckheight Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I believe they were also re-chambering with the .030" cuts. Just facing without re-chambering yeilds something like .024" squish clearance with OEM thickness gaskets. Quote
AKheathen Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 the stock chambers vary by as much as 3cc's, so you have to measure them first. i think if they are at 25, then you take .035 off for pump, but i'm not totally sure on that one. Quote

sredish Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 oh, yah, forgot to mention that your pics are gone in the jetting stickies oh yea, i'll get all that fixed. Quote
dajogejr Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Scott...as I'm more than sure you're aware of this (more or less a note for other members) cranking PSI should not be used as a true indicator for race/pump fuel. It can barely be used as a guide. UCCR or static compression should be used, not cranking compression. No fuel on the face of the planet says it's ok to run at 180 Cranking PSI. It will, however, be cleared for 13:1, 14.5:1, etc. Generally, I've seen stock heads run 22 to 25ccs. If you're going to go more than .020, I would strongly suggest rechambering the heads. Quote

Hell, I don't wanna run 180 psi anyways... yea, there's A LOT more to it than psi. I'm looking for maybe 155 with a lot of timing advance..... I already have 2 machines that require 110 and no less, and I don't want to have to separate out the 110 that requires mixing, not too mention how much more fuel it takes over my thumpers. Quote
