Just get a TORS removal kit you won't regret it. To get the old cable off look down in the slide you'll see two little screws. Undue those and you should be able to figure it out from there.

Are you trying to get it out of the tors or out of the carb slide? Definitely get the tors eliminator kit, it simplifies everything.

If your trying to get it out of the carb slide, there is a little clip that slides down around the cable and retainer on top of the slide, try to work that loose then hold the slide upside down, it should fall right out.

You can also take the 2 small screws out and it'll come loose, but they're hell to put back in.

i need to replace the throttle cable its broke and i will look harder at it tonight but i was hoping someone had a pic or something.

so... the long cable that goes to the bars, right? not the slide? just unscrew the plate from the side of the box on top of the carbs, and it's basically like the thumb lever. it'd be easier to remove the slide assy. too. compress the spring with one hand, and tip the slide with the other, and shake the retainer out, then slide the cable sideways in the slide. just remember to get the slide in right, and don't bend the needle.
