i just got my bike running and noticed as soon as i rode it water was getting in my oil. so i know theres only so many things it can be from water pump gasket or o ring or something. just need some help pen pointing and fixing this problem so i can get to riding! i also need to know a good quick way to fix it so i can ride this weekend. like if i can just put some gasket maker on it and run with it this weekend or what appreciate any help!

also how do these UNI filters do in sand riding? they are opened so there isnt anything but oil to keep the sand out just wanting to clear it up before i hit the dunes thanks.

X2, This would be my first guess as well.

The water pump gasket is a little different from the water pump seal. The seal is behind the clutch cover and the water pump impeller. If you take the clutch cover off, you will see a bearing on the backside of the water pump impeller after removing it. The seal fits in between the bearing and cover on the inside. If the gasket was bad, it would leak water on the out side of the motor or into the water pump cover.

Also, it could be a bad clutch cover gasket, and that would have to be changed anyways if you changed the impeller seal.

I also recommend a leak down test to make sure you not leaking air anywhere.

like said, its either your impeller seal or the o-ring on tube. be a good idea to replace both.

you will have to pull the clutch cover and you may have to replace the gasket there if it gets

buggered while taking the cover off. i am pretty sure no-one local will have the gaskets.

as for the air filters, i been using outerwears on mine. if you are in a bind, get you some

pantyhose. lol

you headed to sandhill this weekend? where are you riding sand at?

thanks yal. so i guess its not the gasket cause its not leaking on the outside. its definately in the inside cause its getting my oil pretty bad milky. but my first thought was the o-ring on the tube! because it looked pretty boogered up from me taking the cover off and on trying to get the clutches right. and i just replaced the clutch cover gasket but it could need a new one. ill prob order all the gaskets and the seal for the impeller and the o ring for the tube to be sure. but i just wanted to ride this weekend.

hillarious, yea i was planning on going to sand hills this weekend man. but cant run it with water in the oil...or can I?? lol. if i can get her patched up to make a good day out there im definately going! but if i have to wait on these parts idk if they'll be here in time. so im hoping i can just put some gasket maker on there and roll with it while im waiting for the gaskets and all so i can ride. but idk. and i might be sporting some pantie hoes lol.

Uni filters suck in my opinion.

but you already know...........i've heard the same about k&n filters. i dont have anything against them but i had an old school real respected mechanic shop owner tell me they are motor eaters and he only sells uni's.
