lokisbuddy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 As the title stated which way do the dust seals go? Flat side against the bearing, or hollow side to the bearing? I am thinking flat side in, but I dont want to screw it up this is the first time I've changed them. Thanks! Quote
2001Stroker Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Hollow side towards the bearing. Quote
Bill Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Hollow side towards the bearing, remember to pack the seal with grease and put plenty on the inner lip. Quote
lokisbuddy Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 Ok what kind of grease? like grease gun grease or white lithium? also what do you mean by inner lip? on the dust seal where the metal spring thingy is? thanks Quote
Bill Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 The lip that goes around the axel, any kind of water proof grease will work. Packing the hollow side just keeps the spring from rusting and the rubber seal from drying out. Quote
