trex banshee Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 never use a screwdriver to "pry" the cases apart, this is a machined surface and this "prying" will destroy the surface. Also you do not have to take the center bolt/clutch adjustment mechanism out of the center of the pressure plate. Quote

TJScott Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 the drive gears on the crank do not have to come off. take off all bolts on top and bottom of the case in order according to your manual. make sure you keep them in order with their numbers. Quote

Otherwise you won't be able to replace the seal. And yes put sealant all the way around the perimeter of the cases and any other area you can see that is machined. It would be easiest for you to just look where it was sealed before. Put sealant all the way around the crank seals and sprocket seal as well. Be sure not to forget the bearing clip/retainers like we talked about on the phone. Have all the nipples on the bearings in the cutouts as well. Quote
