Hi all I'm new to this forum and first time to start a thread. I have an issue with my jetting I know this topic has been beat to death but still looking for some direction. I just had my new 99 Banshee worked on and it seems that the motor wants to bog just as you hit the throttle but after idle it seems to run just fine. My other issue is my plugs look black and wet when I check them after runnng it in 6th wide open and turn off the motor and pull the plug out. I'm running 280 mains, Stock pilot, elev. 760, K&N with outerwear no lid on air box, FMF fatty gold. This is what I just had done to the motor.BANSHEE HAS HOT RODS +5MM LONG ROD CRANK 4MM

JUG SPACER TO RAISE THE PORT TIMING 65.00MM .040

OVER COATED HOT RODS WISECO 795 SERIES PISTON.

KNIFED TRANSFER PORTS. SO ENGINE DISPLACEMENT IS 385. Also running pump gas 89oc. 50:1 mix Amsoil.

Does anyone have any advice or seen this and know what the fix was.. Thanks to everyone upfront..

how far in are your air screws? You can lean out the needle a bit moving the clip on it closer to the blunted end and see if that helps. you main should be about right. might wanna check your compresion too, maybe a higher octane would be a good idea. you cant really tell your condition unless you use new plugs and chop em. search plug chop. I dont want to type that much.

I'm in the middle pos on the needle or pos 3 from the blunted end. The air screws are 1 1/4 turn out. I was 1 1/2 and the bog was worse. I just had the top end redone so I have not had a chance to check the new compression. Also I'm here in Iowa where its been REALLY COLD. Is this something not to mess with till it gets closer to my riding temps. Its been -25 to 0 as of late. I don't ride till the 50's or above.

hmm. maybe your not running rich. try turning the screws in a whole turn and drop the clip down toward the point 1 notch and see how see runs. its possible its still jetted for warmer temps. just need to adjust to the colder weather maybe.....

If that works, try the needle another step toward the pointed end and see if it improves further. you may even need a bigger main in that cold of weather.
