sandman Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 I recently had a crank failure on my old 1990 engine that I was running for awhile in my 05 banshee & basically one side got hot causing the thrust washer to come apart & the rest is history. So should I rebuild the crank, I see rebuild kits available on ebay from time to time or just junk it? I'm guessing it would need rod bearings & of course thrust washers on the one side at the least. I have it out & sitting on the work bench & am wondering what I should do with it now. It is a Hot Rods brand welded crank. Thought it would make a good paper weight but it keeps getting my papers oily!!!! LOL Quote

LOL take it to a shop and price a rebuild, unles the thrust surface is toast. they should let you know if it's worth rebuilding Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 the cost of rebuild is close to the price of new.. check into it and maybe you will get a decent price.. but usually its just as easy to buy a new one Quote
sandman Posted January 11, 2009 Author Report Posted January 11, 2009 I'll check into it. Thanks guys. Quote
