97stageIVBansh Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 ok so i put the jet kit in today, put everything back together, turn the screws out 1.5 to 2 to make sure they are the same, but when i crank it up one side blows out an assload of smoke and that side gets hot, the other side still is blowing air out with a tiny bit of blue in it and it wont get hot, any ideas? i put a 340 main in it new needles they had six clips i clipped them 2 from the top so the third clip from the top so i guess thats the fourth from the bottom, and thats the prob hot and blue smoke on one side and nothing on the other, im clueless thanks for the help Quote

You sure you put the slides back in right, the cutouts towards the back of quad. Whats your elevation? Needle prolly best in the middle groove for starters. Other mods?????????? Quote

Other mods?????????? ok when I put the slides back in that cutaway is facing towards the front there is a groove in the carb and it can only go in a certain way though so I think its right I'll pull them back off I think I might have a kink in my throttle cable or something im ordering a tors eiminator kit with the new throttle cable hopefully it is the throttle cable it got a small kink in it where it connects inside the tors when e took it off and its onlly on one side and I think that is the side that's getting hot so that makes sense, but I have trinity stage 5 exhaust pro flow billet adapter with a k and n filter and that's it I had to rejet wit the new filter, is the filter and billet thing that bolts into the airbox is that called a pod? Pods are just open filters no airbox, the cutaway in the slides should face toward the filter. Quote

98_shee Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 it should should only go in one way right? They can be put in backwards. The cutaway in the slide should be facing the filter if it isnt then switch the slides around. Quote

Your slides are reversed and your probably pretty rich on your mains, atleast leave your lid off the box. Dual fiters, even single are considered pods when running without airbox, with your jetting I figured thats what you were running. Still dont know your ele. though. ?? Quote
