Michael Jackson Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 in a 5 hour ride, i went through 2-3 tanks of fuel.at a 32:1 ratio that would figure out to 12 ounces of oil for 3 tanks. 12 oz;s per tank, 3 tanks, 12 x 3 = 36 oz, but yes you still make a good point..no one ever accused the hippies of being smart Quote

spike Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Bombardier (ski-doo) make a sled thats using the latest 2 stroke technologies. If i remember well its advertised to use about 1/2 a gallon of oil per season. its direct high pressure fuel injection strait from the top off the head. the oil is never in contact with the fuel, goes in the crankcase and slowly makes its way to the piston thru the transfer ports. plus the oil is never washed away from the crank bearings by fuel. its a 120 some hp 600 cc twin... I think its pretty interesing, to bad I`m a yamaha guy :cool: Quote
