ON a small cub, gas motor, IMO...yes. If you're gonna dune with it.

If it was a flat out drag and/or methanol motor, I'd say go 39.

What did your builder recommend?? Reason I say this is diff porting styles will favor diff sizes of carbs. You are going to be somewhere between a 35.5 and 39, personally for gas I think a 39 on a stock stroke is overkill....but, your builder will likely give you the best advice if he knows what he's doing.
