i bought an 87 shee the other day and rode it the night i got it for a few minutes.. took a while to get started maybe 25 kicks..rode it next day lost power and fouled a plug..put new plugs in it and checked spark just to make sure and i couldnt see it at all.. let it sit for 3 days and went back and it fired up the 3rd kick .. i warmed it up and it acted funny like trying to foul plug again..shut it off and put new plugs in it and it hasent started by kicking it at all but you can pull start it fine....... ANY SUGGESTIONS...

25 kicks to get it started sounds like the compression may be low. Weak or intermittent spark could be pickup coil gap, stator, or ignition coil, etc, etc. Read the electrical FAQ. I think it goes over all of that.

if the bike has sat for 2 or more days i will kick start in 2 or 3 kicks or you can push start it by yourself . compression is approx..120 on both cylinders . maybe 10 hours on new pistons new coil new ricky stator adj timing plate at 3 degrees . it like when it warms up it looses fire altogether wierd!!

its prolly that crappy ricky stator or one of the boots on the ign coil is about to fall apart.

I will have to check the stator i know the coil is good it runs my 97 shee just fine i will swap stators with my 97 the plugs are diff but i will run jumpers over just to see THANKS U BUNCH..
