MikeNick Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 So I checked my clutch case oil today and the dipstick looked like it had strawberry milk on it so I figure the radiator hose that connects to the clutch case for the water pump is leaking. I soaked my clutch disks in Bel-Ray oil b4 installing them and that shit is $8 somethin a quart, question is when I put it all back together if I use some 10w-30 Valvoline or w/e else some guys use is it going to fuck up the clutch since it has been soaked in the Bel-Ray gear oil. I'm guessing I should probably just fork out the $20 bucks on 2 qts of Bel-Ray. Whatcha guys thinkin>>>!!!! Quote
1996dragshee Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 lol well first off,you should find out why your oil looks like strawberry milk...thats not normal dude lol and i change my oil probably 3-4 times a year and i fork over that 20 bucks every time..i only use 1 1/2 quarts each oil change though Quote

Just my guess.. Quote
Wildcardracing Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I wouldn't rule out the water pump seal. There shouldn't have been any silicone on that tube, It is an o-ring seal where it goes into the water pump. That o-ring along with the clutch cover gasket should keep the coolant out of the transmission, if the o-ring failed the coolant would leak onto the upper case. Quote

I have had to fix this on many banshees. slobanshee06 is right, change the seal. Quote
MikeNick Posted November 15, 2008 Author Report Posted November 15, 2008 That seal is the one that the impeller shaft goes through right? Wheres the best place to order one at.. Quote
