87sheerips Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Just switched back to gas and want your opinion on this initial reading. I was ripping for about 20 mins, shut her down peaked in 3rd gear. This is what I have.. K&N pods, 35mm PWk's, VF3's, aggresive dune port, 160lbs comp, +4 timing, CPI inframes.. Jets: 160 main, 52 pilot. My thoughts are to fatten it up just a tad, let me know what you think! Quote

How do you determine, by looking at these plugs, to bump up the pilot?? my mistake bro..i thought i added the main in,plug looks a bit lean. i wouldnt fatten up much more than 170 and 55 on the pilot. If it runs runs puurty the way it is with the 52,hell just leave it lol. i had the damn near same set up last year with 35pwks i ran in the winter when i had my stock cylinder motor. i ran 170 and 55s. ran top notch all winter, Quote

I have a 165 Ill throw in, then a 170 when the real cold hits. Thanks for the tips bro... -JD Quote

Can't really get a good indicator of your main jet unless you have warmed the motor up on old plugs, then installed new plugs and do a 5th or 6th gear WOT plug check. Your jetting could have been all over the place over those 20 minutes....and in 3rd gear, your motor is not demanding near as much fuel as in higher gears. Quote

I had it wound out in 6th, it felt good and didnt break up at all. I think a 165 main should get me safe, Id rather be a little rich and just run it. Ill put some old plugs in there, and check it after a 6th gear rip. Thanks for the advice! -JD Quote
