Tyfro!
all i needed to know, i'll tear off the top end once i'm done watching my movie......
Snopczynski
Whoa here. Thats not all you needed to know. Did it just start doing it? Is this a fresh rebuild and then you heard the noise? What if the noise is a loose stator or loose flywheel rivets? What if its a transmission noise? Start with isolating the noise, then go from there. Why not do a compression test or squish test before tearing apart the top end?
Screaming Yellow Zonker
I would start off by pulling off the stator cover and put a socket on the flywheel bolt and rotate the engine forward and backward with the spark plugs removed. *side note** check the spark plugs for any type of metal shavings or gray matter on the plugs* this might help narrow down the area of the noise... Snopczynski
Pure black is normal. Its the carbon deposits from your fuel. How do you know the piston was slapping?
Tyfro!
i can tell because the cylinder is scratched up pretty good, and the rings are like gone, like they where being disinigrated......
