Randy Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I just bought this 1987 Banshee from my son and it only fires a couple times every 4 or 5 kicks .I unplugged all TORS plugs and tried the CDI box, the ignition coil, and stator [but not the pick-up coil] from a running 1987 Banshee and nothing changed.I set the gap in the pick-up coil and ohmed all wiring out. The pick-up coil checked good in ohms by the book , but could it be breaking down under load? Quote
acfine Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I know this may sound vague...but my first thoughts are the carb is way out of whack. Turn your air screws all the way in, and back them out 1.5 turns, see if that helps at all.. Do you know if any mods have been made to it prior to you buying it? Good luck... Anthony Quote
Randy Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 It has some kind of 2 into 1 pipe and a K&N air filter but my problem is in no spark, only a couple times every 4 or 5 kicks. Quote
J-Madd Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Could be a bad ground. Do you still have a kill switch and key? Make sure those are good, or bypassed correctly. Quote
