shogs Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I have so many questions so I apologize if my questions seem scattered. First of all this is my first banshee and I hear it could be an alba racing banshee or atleast have some alba parts. One way to put how I feel is just that I wish I could prove what I have done to it without paying my local shop $1,000. But anyways I was wondering if anybody knows anyone in VA or WV that does good work because I basically am looking to do a rebuild. I need most if not all of my swing arm bearings/bushings replaced and a chain guard installed. I also found out that my air boots were were leaking so my pistons could have burned up a little. I want to see if I have a port job or stock cylinders because then I wont need to port. (obviously : P). As of now I only have enough money to do little things. For instance I got a nice set of tie rods and ends on the way to straighten up the front end and want to buy some shocks. I was wondering if I got after market shocks like works would I be able to notice a lot without aftermarket arms?. My last question is about my clutch. The pull is very hard and when im rolling my hand gets sore just holding it in. If I replaced the cable would that help or would I have to do something with the clutch itself. I'm only looking for advice so try not to bitch for me not knowing as much as someone thats had a banshee since they came out. Thanks Quote
THE GRIM RIPPER Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Clutch cable should def do the trick... Keep it lubed once replaced http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...odFamilyId=8894 Do everything else yourself.... We or I will walk you through it if need be.... Keep your cash for parts, not labor Good job signing up for the HQ Membership, sounds like you'll need it! Quote

If I replaced the cable would that help or would I have to do something with the clutch itself. YOU MIGHT HAVE HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH SPRINGS WHICH WOULD CAUSE A HARD CLUTCH PULL. IF SO, REPLACE 3 OF THEM WITH STANDARD SPRINGS. A NEW CABLE COULD BE PART OF THE PROBLEM ALSO. Quote
shogs Posted October 18, 2008 Author Report Posted October 18, 2008 Thanks guys I'll probably get a new clutch cable, works shocks, and get my tie rods on and go from there. Quote
dajogejr Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Before I worried about the chain slider, clutch cable, etc. I'd be starting here: "I also found out that my air boots were were leaking so my pistons could have burned up a little. I want to see if I have a port job or stock cylinders because then I wont need to port." Bearings, bushings, cables...all minor and cheap stuff. Figure the motor out first. Quote
