hey

a while back i blew my shee .. clutch side brunt on me just to say it was blown. but stil ran with one ring stuck... anyways.......

buddy lent me some cylinders he had kickin around along with pistons.. these ones are ported and from what i can see they look like agressive porting.... well rebuilt her. jetted form 240's to 270. first to 6th gear comes realy fast. but it sputter's on top real quick even in between gears WO but bottom mid is insane

droped some 300's in there and still does it but a lil better i find..

soo question is should i go bigger?? i have some 350's, 370's kickin around somewhere.

or is there someting else i should look for?? clutch side pipe is a lil more bleu then the other.. crank seals??

compression is around 145 with 21cc domes.. i have pc pipes k&n pods, reed spacers, vforce 3, timming key (no its not sheared i even took it out), cool head 21cc, stock carbs stock clip 3rd notch, 2 turns out on screw, stock pilote, 300 mains. im baffled i shoulnd't need 6 sizes up for jets with porting??? ran fine for 3 years with 240's stock cylinder .020 over. plug chope was good also back then. now its a lil lite

sorry for the long story, but. im tryin to let everyone know were im at, and whats been done tx

I doubt you'll see it require over 330-340, do a plug chop.

no id do a run or two see how it runs on top end if its fine leave the main id stick with 340 at what you should do is go bigger on the pilot mayb 27.5 and go down one clip on the needle so you would be on the fourth from the top if the needle is lean it wont matter what main you put on it it will still run lean

I didn't suggest that he shouldn't tune the needle and the pilot. I agree, if the needle is lean you'll be chasing main jets all over with no success.

i have 340 mains in my stage 3 ported shee. the mods are in my sig. i would throw in some 350's for now. put pilots at 27.5 if not already, and leave the needle in stock position. try that and report back. 270's are waaaay lean.

If you pay more than $2 a jet you are getting ripped off. Search around online and you can find merchants who sell them way cheaper than $5 each.

You could save yourself a LOT of trouble if you would just go read the instructions for how to do a plug chop and do it. It will tell you if you need to go bigger of if your problem is coming from somewhere else.

Also depends a LOT on elevation. We run piped, ported and K&N'd bikes around here with a 270 main with stock carbs and its rich.

very true....i am making the assumption that he's around sea level, so i like to set him/people up with a safe/rich suggestion than a leaner one that may work. gives the tuner a chance to fine tune it to his area and not blow things up right away
